Goals_11_2016

“Be optimistic in the action, realistic in the prediction”

End of November 2017, time for review and readjustments.
Scratched: I change my plan
Green, I did it!
Red, failed…

Money:
I’ll easily save 300 euros per month
I traveled way too much for saving any money…
Altruism:
Give 10 euros per month to an association
Finally did it!
Volunteer every Monday night at the first aid association + a weekend per month
Health :
I’ll easily drink 3L of water per day
I’ll easily eat at least a fruit and a vegetable per meal
I’ll easily avoid every kind of candy at all (except black chocolate)
I am at around one snack per week
I’ll easily eat one fork of sauerkraut (I think I hate it but I’m not sure)

Didn’t have any “proper” opportunity
I’ll easily diminish the portion of my breakfast, lunch, and dinner
I did and it feels good, I lost weight (even it was not my direct goal) and I now control my craving behaviors much more easily
Mind: 
I’ll easily do my morning routine during weekdays
I’ll easily do my evening routine during weekdays
I’ll easily focus my curiosity on important things and avoid diluting my attention
Social :
I’ll easily go out for a social event once a week
I’ll easily talk to my friends and family once a week.
Energy:
I’ll easily party hard once a month.
And one was in Poland 😀
Travel:
I’ll easily go to Poland 
I’ll easily go to Lithuania
I went to Bulgaria instead
Sport :
I’ll easily go to the MMA training at least 2 times a week
I’ll easily learn unicycle

Creativity :
I’ll easily write an article about logistic regression.
This kind of stuff is really time-consuming
I’ll easily update my personal diary once a week.
20 % YOLO :
I’ll easily travel in 3 different countries
Poland, England, Bulgaria
Culture :
I’ll easily read a book per month (other than professional) and summarize it on the blog
I didn’t summarize them though…
Learning:
I’ll easily read 4 pages of a statistical book per working day
I finished Hastie 😀
I’ll easily look at 2 Nilearn examples per working day
I’ll easily get the A2 level in german in December 2016
I didn’t check but I should be A2 by now
I’ll easily learn a new german song 
Nope, forgot about this
I’ll easily attend the tandem every Thursday
And I love it!
I’ll easily read an article during transportation time
I bought a tablet, it’s awesome to read this way!
I’ll easily spend 5*45min per day focused on my Ph.D. project
On average, I spent 2.30hours per day. Python and stats are so fun that it’s sometimes hard not to directly switch for it and keep writing.
Admin stuff:
I’ll easily move in Aachen
Letter sent, I’m moving in February! Can’t waiiiit.
I’ll easily have a complete manuscript ready for publication
On my way though 🙂
I’ll easily finish the review for the IRTG project

“Be optimally impressive”

New stuff in purple
Money:
I’ll easily save 300 euros per month
(Get a security with money)
Altruism:
Give 10 euros per month
Volunteer every Monday night at the first aid association + a weekend per month
(meet people, good for society, sense of purpose, make a difference, make an impact, to share, personal growth and self-esteem, learn, know the local community, integration in Germany, challenge,…)
Health :
I’ll easily drink 3L of water per day
(Stay hydrated, control calories, energize muscles, body health, maintain normal Bowel Function, fatigue buster…)
I’ll easily eat at least a fruit and a vegetable per meal
(Body health, fiber, vitamins & minerals, prevent diseases)
I’ll easily avoid every kind of candy at all (except black chocolate)
(No nutritional value, dependence, too many calories, unhealthy: liver, insulin, fat, heart…)
I’ll easily eat one fork of sauerkraut (I think I hate it but I’m not sure)

(Going out of my comfort zone, healthy food, increasing likelihood of eating healthier) 
I’ll easily diminish the portion of my breakfast, lunch, and dinner
(“We barely regret not to eat enough”, and I think I eat a bit too much)
Mind: 
I’ll easily do my morning routine during weekdays:
     -Wake up at 6.00am (get 8hours of sleep)
(Much more time to enjoy life, get out of my comfort zone, Much more productive on morning)
     -Drink water
     -5 min of meditation
(inner peace, self-awareness, relax, consciousness, inspiration, better concentration)
     -Smile for a minute
(Against stress, better mood, immune system, fun, feel better)
     –4*100abs, 60push-ups, 50back exercises, 4*20lift weight, 40squats, 15 martial moves,       4*20dips, 2*20grip dumbbell.
(Get ready for the cold shower, benefits of sport in general)
     -Cold shower
(alertness, skin&hair, immunity, blood circulation, metabolic properties, speed up muscles recovery, get out of my comfort zone, be tougher,  improve mood, increase testosterone levels, better breathing)

      –read for 30 minutes
      -Plan the next day 
Social :

Sport :
I’ll easily go to the MMA training at least 1 time a week
I’ll easily follow the marathon training (marathon of Bonn, 2nd April!)
I’ll easily add a version A and B for my morning workout session
I’ll easily find competitions to run during the marathon training
Creativity :
I’ll easily write an article per week on Quora or on my blog if not traveling.
(Improve writing skills, have fun, be useful,…)
I’ll easily start a diary for computer related stuff and another one for intellectually-related stuff (quotes, ideas, etc…)
I’ll easily update personal diary once a week.
(Record special&normal events, thoughts, feelings…, follow my evolution, therapy for bad days, writing skills (I do it in English and German), assess mistakes and success)
20 % YOLO :
I’ll easily travel in 3 different countries
(exciting, discovering, get out of my comfort zone, avoid regrets, improve confidence, fun)
Culture :
I’ll easily read a book per month (other than professional) and summarize it on the blog
I’ll easily visit two museums + attend one theater/cinema/concert
(curiosity, creativity, learn more, fun, verbal abilities, writing skills,  concentration, improve the world, be smarter, be more interesting and attractive, de-stress, memory, discover and recreate me, inspiration, escape from the real world)
Learning:
I’ll easily read 4 pages of a statistical book per working day (finish ‘stat learning with sparsity’)
I’ll easily look at 2 Nilearn examples per working day
I’ll easily do the presentation of my project in german
I’ll easily learn a new german song 
I’ll easily attend the tandem every Wednesday and Thursday
I’ll easily read an article during transportation time
I’ll easily spend 3 hours per day focused on my Ph.D. project
(Awareness of what’s going on, fun, become a data scientist, job opportunities, making sense of the world around, German is important almost everywhere, useful, improve my life, speak three languages, focus, IQ, exercise both side of the brain, creativity, memory, problem-solving skills, reading skills, teaches planning and foresight)
Programming:
I’ll easily finish the game the_phd_journey.py
Admin stuff:
I’ll easily find a shared flat in Aachen
(I live a bit far away, 10km from the city center, I thought it was good, but I’m not sure. Moving is definitely out of my comfort zone thus let’s do it)
I’ll easily have a complete manuscript ready for publication
